CURIOSITY IS
THE NEW ACTIVISM
Expression is the blossom, not the root.
Wondering through the garden, I've been noticing something:
When we talk about protecting biodiversity we often think of forests, oceans and endangered species or perhaps even creatures from "outer space". All fascinating and important to pay attention. Yet I have spent years investigating a different dimension of the same question:
Restoring the biodiversity of humanity from the inside out. Introducing variation. Seeding culture. Instead of growing more of the same.
Every human is a unique ecosystem.
A connected hub of constellations.
The more we flourish and bloom, offering our individual fragrance, the richer and juicy life becomes in our togetherness.
So be honest. I want to know:
What conditions allow you to create and grow?
Discovering what else is there inside you, impossible human, that wants to hatch, take form and circulate.
For as long as I can remember, I've been digging, excavating and physically visualizing the often paradoxical hidden layers of the human psyche, through intuitive art, playful experiments and observation. Slowly recognizing my way of seeing. Reclaiming my own perception. Making the invisible tangible. Learning to value what I found there, before anyone else could.
Which made me realize: You can´t explain, optimize or change people. But you can focus on providing a fertile environment.
But here's what nobody tells you: most of what makes conditions work, happens where nobody can see it. In the behind the scenes, the quiet hidden layers of reality.
A root doesn't perform, posts updates, or report its progress. It just goes down, and more doooown into the dark, doing the one job that makes the bloom possible later - and if you dug it up halfway to check on it, you wouldn't find a flower. You would find a plant that died explaining itself.
How many times have you made yourself wrong:
Are you procrastinating? Why not just get it out there? Are you a perfectionist? I understand the question. It´s valid. But here's my point: preparation isn't the absence of the work. It IS the work, in the phase where it isn't visible yet. You can never hurry a flower to open and bloom. Or rushing a baby to fly out of the womb.
Civilisation needs cosmic gardeners.
Artists. Myth Makers. Builders. Dreamers. Storytellers. Pioneers.
Inhabiting the inner space, where wildflowers are allowed to sting. Where the impossible parts of you finally receive water and sunlight. The old vines loosen their grip! And beauty is not the reward - but the source. That´s also how excellent compost is made. And from the thick slowness of the rich black soil, something so intimately alive can grow - that provides nourishment for the whole collective.
As more of us come alive in deeper relationship with our own rhythms and timing, your frequency and quality of presence becomes an offering, as much as your expression.
A natural contribution.
Contributing something different, unexpected and original. Changing forms. Dressing like the future. The universe expands through surprise after all.
Look at the flower .. producing nectar.
The nectar attracts bees. The bees pollinate the ecosystem.
The ecosystem produces fruit. Fruit feeds everybody.
Because beauty has always been practical. Perfectly on time.
Accomplishing everything.
Every time something true takes form in its own season -
a poem, an impossible creation, a secret dream, a hilarious conversation, a couragous idea or collaboration - life becomes more.
There is a world inside us that runs much deeper than "self-expression for its own sake" or dissolving ourselves into the collective out of "obligation", "usefullness" or "service".
Expression is not the purpose. It's the evidence that your life is moving, healthy and grooving. Revealing your true magik to the world.
Have you noticed - this time feels like a Renaissance?
Not because we're returning to some "fantasy land".
It's just what happens when aliveness starts circulating again.
A renaissance reemerges when people come home to themselves. They stop consuming culture... and start pollinating it.
The garden doesn't become richer because some flowers are extraordinary productive. It becomes richer while every being contributes its essence, color, rhythm, season and song. And some species even take years to open.
We all contain dormant species. Gifts. Potentials. Secret fascinations. Ways of being that have often never been given the right conditions to emerge. Read that again. Pressure doesnt help to recultivate what you longed for your entire life, but couldnt articulate it. It takes a long time to recognize what you actually need - and rebuild your life on solid foundations. Your natural inner habitat and design.
That doesn't mean everything goes. Or that "still incubating" is a permanent address. Discernment is part of biodiversity too. So is patience and protection. That´s how relationships mature.
Which brings me to the "naysayers", who call my work "escapism".
Isn´t that interesting? But perhaps the real escapists are those who live without a precious dreamseed. Optimizing themselves into something flatter and easier to explain.
Complaining, rushing and comparing have become one of the most successful monocultures on Earth. Rounding up the planet. Sanding off every diversified edge.
Fortunately, nature never stops experimenting.
And neighter do we. Different wigs solve different problems. Obviously!
I don't trust ideas who push urgency or fixed answers. Because certainty creates dead gardens. I love living questions. Fertile invitations. Spaciousness. Being playfully challenged.
And yes - Precision. A well-built container, a flexible boundary that actually holds. But the riverbank is not the river. Structure was never meant to cage the mystery. It´s here to give us freedom - to get more wild in.
And somehow, environments built this way turn out to be seriously productive. Breeding conditions where people have fun and your way of being changes the atmosphere. Surprise arises naturally.
Sometimes you take the longer road..
One small apple falls. A wormhole opens.
Swooshhh. Piunngg. Huiiii. You're somewhere new, holding a tiny miracle you were never even looking for.
